Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fundraising and Development Board Member to join our team. As a key member of our Board of Directors, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission by developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies and building relationships with major donors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Fundraising: Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising plans to support the organization's mission and goals.
  • Donor Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, prospects, and stakeholders to secure funding and support for the organization.
  • Event Planning: Collaborate with staff and other board members to plan and execute fundraising events, including ticket sales, sponsor recruitment, and logistics.
  • Grant Writing: Research and write grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Board Governance: Participate in board meetings, contribute to strategic planning, and provide oversight and guidance to the Executive Director.
Requirements
  • Passion for the Mission: A deep understanding of and commitment to the organization's mission and values.
  • Fundraising Experience: Proven track record of successful fundraising, including event planning, donor engagement, and grant writing.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Time Commitment: Ability to commit at least 3-6 hours per month to the organization.
  • Financial Support: Willingness to make a meaningful annual contribution to the organization.
