Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Director to join our team at Johns Hopkins Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization activities for our Sterile Processing Department and select ambulatory clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization protocols to ensure the highest level of patient safety and quality care.
  • Lead and manage a team of staff members at multiple geographical locations, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of departmental objectives.
  • Collaborate with the JHH HEIC to develop new training programs and measurement tools to monitor and report quality and productivity within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, including AAMI, AORN, and TJC Standards.
  • Participate in JHH regulatory and accreditation surveys.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or operational science required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification in sterile processing required, with additional coursework in medical terminology, quality assurance, quality control, and business management strongly recommended.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in sterile processing, with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • CRCST Certified Registered Central Sterile Service Technician.
