Senior Data Analyst

The University of Rochester seeks a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst - Continuous Quality Improvement Specialist to facilitate the prioritization and completion of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives. This role will oversee program/service utilization data across the CTSI, oversee Impact evaluation, and make recommendations to leadership.
The successful candidate will direct collection, conduct analyses, and report data to CTSI leadership to support decisions on day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and specific business performance issues and improvements related to CQI.
This position has both strategic and operational responsibilities within the CTSI, reporting to the Translational Science Branch Operations Director and the CTSI Impact and Continuous Quality Improvement (ICQI) Program Director.
Key Responsibilities- Establish Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) prioritization processes, oversee implementation, support CQI project teams, and track progress.
- Provide verbal and written updates to CTSI leadership and serve as the CQI expert for the CTSI, including overall staff and faculty training and development and refinement of tools.
- Act as a resource for colleagues and leadership within the CTSI and across the CTSI's institutional portfolio, specifically related to CQI training and building CQI expertise.
- Liaison with the URMC Quality Institute.
- Oversee data management, providing consultation on design and interoperability across data platforms.
- Create, revise, and implement data analysis programs, interpret findings, and prepare reporting and project plans pertinent to outcomes.
- Lead the implementation of the impact assessment as defined by CTSI leadership, inclusive of internal and external data collection via interviews, surveys, and review of documents.
- Conduct analyses, including use of external sources, draft reports of findings, including visualizations using appropriate tools, and organize and implement the biennial research collaborators survey.
- Direct overall analyses and conduct selected analyses of findings, including social network analyses, and generate visualizations for internal audiences.
- Lead the ongoing CTSI Strategic Management processes, including implementation, tracking, and revisions to the CTSI Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- Lead monthly and weekly meetings relevant to Impact and Continuous Quality Improvement (ICQI), including agenda, action items, and follow-up.
- Manage Rochester CTSA hub evaluation-specific participation in the national CTSA Program, including representation at regularly recurring meetings.
- Contribute to the development of scholarly products and materials for other dissemination channels, plans, and coordinates CTSI efforts to disseminate findings and innovative methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Masters' degree preferred.
- 2 years of data analysis or customer resource management system experience or relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience with implementation of CQI (e.g., as team leader, trainer) required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organization, and communication skills, ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders required.
- Must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple details/tasks and provide effective feedback required.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and to effectively present complex information to audiences with a variety of knowledge/skill levels required.
- Experience in and familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research techniques, literature reviews, data management, and strong analytical ability, strong understanding of statistical analysis and predictive modeling required.
- Ability to work well with others as part of a team as well as independently required.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar required.
- Certification (or equivalent) in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) preferred.
