Position Overview:

The Sales Associate will serve as a key player in our retail environment, engaging with businesses and industrial clients to provide essential products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the sale of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, along with welding supplies and related equipment.
  • Assist customers via various communication channels, including email and phone, as well as in-person interactions.
  • Proactively seek sales opportunities with both new and existing clients, ensuring proper documentation for future reference.
  • Coordinate deliveries of cylinders and hardgoods, while maintaining appealing showroom displays.
  • Support customers with loading and unloading cylinders, offering guidance on equipment usage and necessary materials.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, addressing inquiries and providing accurate information regarding costs, orders, and deliveries.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and manage accounts receivable, including discussions on overdue accounts.
  • Ensure meticulous completion of all paperwork, including coding, costing, and pricing.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to safety and administrative protocols.
  • Occasionally deliver products to various business and medical gas clients, acting as a backup driver when required.
  • Operate necessary equipment, such as forklifts, as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management, housekeeping, and product demonstrations.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service or sales.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Preferred knowledge of welding and experience handling compressed gases.
  • Computer experience or familiarity with order entry systems.
  • The ability to lift 25-75 lbs regularly and occasionally lift over 100 lbs.
  • A Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT endorsement.
  • Capability to engage in physical activities such as bending, stooping, and reaching.
