Job Title: Financial Controller

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Prenetics. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations, and driving process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the accounting team, establishing priorities and overseeing key financial operations.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP for journal entries, revenue, receivables, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee and upgrade internal controls, corporate governance, and financial compliance requirements under Nasdaq and SEC regulations.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to improve accounting processes and financial reporting efficiency.
  • Manage budget preparation, forecasts, and expense control.
  • Liaise with banks and handle banking-related matters.
  • Manage financial audits and ensure compliance with all required controls.
  • Produce timely monthly financial reports and key performance metrics for management review.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of accounting experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing/distribution setting with previous management/supervisor-level experience.
  • CPA is a plus.
  • Public company experience is a plus, with a strong understanding of SEC reporting and corporate governance requirements.
  • Experience in process improvement and digital transformation in accounting operations.
  • Expert MS Excel knowledge required; JD Edwards and/or Microsoft D365 experience preferred.
  • Strong vendor relations, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage confidential information and multiple tasks while exercising good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with vendors, employees, other departments, and management. Strong organizational skills required.
