We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Lead Investigation Specialist to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As an Environmental Lead Investigation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of Texans by conducting thorough environmental lead investigations.

Job Summary:

  • Conduct environmental lead investigations to identify sources of lead exposure.
  • Collect and analyze data on lead exposure across the state.
  • Collaborate with primary responsible parties, including parents and healthcare providers, to gather information and enter investigation results into surveillance databases.
  • Maintain contact with other state, city, and local governmental agencies to facilitate data collection efforts.
  • Prepare technical investigation reports on findings and disseminate them to appropriate parties.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and perform environmental lead investigations to assess sources of lead exposure.
  2. Collect environmental samples and data on lead exposure across the state.
  3. Interact with primary responsible parties to obtain data and information.
  4. Enter cases and data into tracking databases.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as environmental science or public health.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental lead investigation or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
