Job Title: Environmental Professional

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Professional to join our team at Alpha Terra Engineering, Inc. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, and will be able to work independently and as part of a team to perform various environmental studies, assessments, plans, and permits.

Job Summary:

The Environmental Professional will be responsible for providing clients with comprehensive solutions to environmental challenges. This will include conducting fieldwork, managing client requirements, and producing technical reports and proposals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fieldwork and sampling protocols
  • Manage client requirements for scope, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Manage and train project-level personnel on environmental projects
  • Produce well-written technical reports and proposals
  • Manage project budgets and deadlines
  • Effectively communicate with ATEI staff, clients, contractors, and vendors
  • Evaluate and interpret environmental data
  • Generate subsurface maps, cross-sections, and site models
  • Oversee field monitoring and testing of soils and water
  • Classify waste and prepare plans and reports for remediation activities
  • Evaluate data for validity, quality, and scientific significance
  • Prepare oral briefings, documents, workshops, training sessions, and public hearings
  • Review and study environmental technical standards, guidelines, and regulations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, or a related field
  • 8-15 years of experience in environmental consulting
  • Certification or licensure in a related field
  • Hazmat certifications in asbestos, lead, and mold (a plus)
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to pass a government background check and drug screen
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with CAD, GIS, Bluebeam, and flow modeling (a plus)
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience working within Federal, State, and local regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task multiple assignments
Physical Requirements:
  • Conducting fieldwork in multiple ambient conditions in Texas and throughout the U.S.
  • Ability to walk, stand, crawl, kneel, climb, and perform repeated bending in the field
  • Overnight travel required up to 25%, possibly more
  • Ability to distinguish colors and shades of color for sample identification and analysis
  • Ability to lift objects (45+ lbs.), tools, and equipment
  • Physical ability to conduct day-long inspections and sampling walking across variant terrain and under differing weather conditions
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
