Water/Wastewater Engineering Assistant Consultant

This role offers a unique chance to contribute to the analysis, development, and design of water supply and wastewater treatment processes. As a Water/Wastewater Engineering Assistant Consultant, you will work closely with our team to ensure the quality of water resources and prevent contamination and degradation.
Your Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, plan, design, permit, and support the management of projects for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance, including pipelines, treatment, and pumping facilities.
- Assist with performing basic engineering work relating to water conveyance and distribution, including pump stations and storage facilities.
- Assist with performing basic engineering work relating to wastewater conveyance and collection, including lift stations and force mains.
- Assist with preparing calculations, analytic models, written studies, and project design technical reports.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with the concepts of professional water resources engineering work relating to water supply, quality, management, and treatment for various end uses.
- Familiarity with relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
- Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Valid Texas driver's license or the ability to get one within 6 months of hiring.
- Engineer in Training Certification or the ability to get certification within 6 months of hiring.
- 1 year of engineering-related experience in the water/wastewater industry, preferably post-graduation.
- Experience utilizing engineering design software such as Civil 3D or Revit.
- Experience utilizing analysis software such as WaterGEMS, MathCAD, or ArcGIS.
- A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
