Job Description

The Terracon San Antonio Office is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Site Assessment Specialist to join our successful and growing environmental site assessment team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Phase II environmental site assessments and limited site investigations to determine presence/absence of contamination in soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and surface water.
  • Log and classify soil following standard practices and methods.
  • Evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data, including soil and groundwater, to develop conclusions concerning environmental and geologic site conditions.
  • Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections and collaborate with engineering and environmental scientist staff on projects.
  • Prepare written plans and reports related to site investigation and remediation activities.
  • Participate in client meetings under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects.
  • Maintain quality standards on tasks performed and prepared deliverables.
  • Perform site visits, field observations, and field data collection or assignments.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to evaluate, plan, and permit projects.
  • Conduct water, soil, and other sampling.
  • Implement technical requirements to complete client projects by directing field staff to sample, test, and collect data and/or document site activities.
  • Outline required investigative program(s) by selecting the proper alternative techniques to conduct site studies in the field of expertise.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related field and a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification/Experience
  • Geologist in Training or Professional Geoscientist licensed in Texas.
  • 40-hour OSHA Training.
  • Geographic information systems.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word.
