Medical Professional for VA Eye Exam Assessments

MRG Exams is seeking a highly skilled Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to conduct comprehensive eye exams for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's SHA process.
About the RoleThis non-treating, non-determination role focuses solely on assessments and offers a rewarding and flexible opportunity for part-time work.
Key Responsibilities- Review Veterans' medical records through a secure web portal to ensure accurate assessment information.
- Perform thorough eye exams, including Visual Field Testing (VFT), to assess patients' visual abilities.
- Complete and submit evaluation forms via the web portal within 24 hours of the exam to meet project requirements.
- Make a positive impact in the lives of Veterans by assisting with their healthcare assessments.
- Pursue a part-time commitment of one day per week, Wednesdays 8a-4p, to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
- Focus on assessments without treatment or determination responsibilities, allowing you to utilize your expertise effectively.
- Enjoy autonomy in a 1099 role as an independent contractor.
To be successful in this position, you must:
- Hold a valid license as an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.
- Be proficient in Visual Field Testing (VFT) and able to perform it accurately.
- Meet the VA's credentialing requirements to participate in the SHA process.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills to create clear and concise reports.
- Be detail-oriented and able to meet submission deadlines for evaluation forms.
The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000 - $120,000 based on industry standards and location. As an independent contractor, you will have the opportunity to earn a competitive income while maintaining a flexible schedule.
