Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Assistant to join our team at Ascension. As a key member of our counseling and recovery services, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their journey towards recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess individual and group interactions to identify areas for intervention and develop effective therapeutic strategies.
  • Monitor patient status and interactions, and intervene as necessary to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Document patient interactions and progress in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate group activities and recreational programs to promote socialization and engagement.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients, and connect them with resources and services as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of personal recovery experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Certified or obtain CPI certification within 120 days of employment and maintain current certification thereafter.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the mental health or substance abuse field.
