Job Summary:

Essentia Health is seeking a highly skilled EMS Dispatcher to join our team. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for dispatching ground transportation teams, coordinating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch ground transportation teams and coordinate with referring and receiving physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor and respond to emergency calls, including Lifeline emergency calls.
  • Enter data into database systems for information gathering and report generation.
  • Collaborate with other responders, including authorities and EMS personnel, to ensure effective communication and response.
  • Monitor video and intrusion systems to ensure the safety and security of patients and staff.

Requirements:

  • EMT-Basic certification or equivalent, with current licensure in Minnesota or Wisconsin, or ability to obtain licensure within one year from date of hire.
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.

Working Conditions:

  • Varied shift rotation, including day, evening, and night shifts.
  • May be required to work weekends and holidays, with a casual status.
  • May be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
