Job Title: Senior Production Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Senior Production Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of assigned manufacturing areas. This includes overseeing and ensuring quality and safety of the manufacturing area and its personnel. The successful candidate will lead Production Supervisors in assigned shift area(s) and be responsible for the health of assigned direct labor force, including training, retention, hiring, and supporting their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate company vision and organizational goals and objectives to assigned manufacturing area(s) in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
  • Develop and implement activities in assigned manufacturing area(s).
  • Ensure all safety standards/policies are met, conduct regular observations for safety compliance, and correct unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide regular feedback, empower, mentor, and coach employees, deliver performance reviews, and assist employees in setting goals.
  • Assess department training needs, oversee department training program, and drive training initiatives.
  • Lead 6S throughout the assigned area, set and hold the team accountable to area standards.
  • Participate in the layered process audit program, ensuring quality and Cirrus process and procedure are met. Drive RCCA in areas where non-conformances are identified and ensure timely completion of open mitigations.
  • Coordinate and provide input to engineering staff and participate in new product launches.
  • Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
  • Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records. Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Set a standard of teamwork in assigned area, coach and guide employees, set plans for improvement, increase production, overcome obstacles, and achieve on-time delivery with zero defects to internal customers. Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
  • Lead KPIs (Safety, Quality, People, Delivery, and Cost) improvement through continuous improvement and lean initiatives. Continually strive for process improvement, cost reduction, and labor hour reduction in assigned areas. Identify change initiatives and engage employees in positively implementing and communicating change.
  • Work to reduce scrap and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) and work to stay within the guidelines for overtime while supporting personnel management and monitoring absenteeism.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or aerospace engineering, business administration, or related field with 8 years of related experience and minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Cirrus Design's manufacturing processes preferred.

Demonstrated Proficiencies/Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write, and speak the English language. Additionally, the following skills are desired:

  • Provide leadership in Lean Manufacturing Principles and practices throughout assigned manufacturing areas. Ensure that manufacturing areas are kept clean, orderly, and presentable at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with the 6S principle (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety). Ensure compliance with all paperwork, such as work instructions, that govern job duties.
  • Attention to detail is required and must be able to lead assembly teams and supervisors in assigned shift areas.
  • May be assigned to oversee different manufacturing locations as production needs require.
