Job Summary

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team in the clinical laboratory. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in collecting patient blood samples for testing and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients via venipuncture or skin puncture
  • Perform clerical duties, including answering phone calls and logging specimens in the laboratory management system
  • Process specimens for testing and ensure accurate and timely results
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain effective working relationships with patients, healthcare staff, and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience with adults and pediatric blood collections (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
