Key Responsibilities- Provide visionary leadership to elevate blind and visually impaired services in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Direct a diverse statewide system of state and federally funded blind and visually impaired services.
- Evaluate current methods of service delivery and develop new approaches to enhance service delivery based on data.
- Ensure that services are responsive to the identified needs of customers.
- Ensure that federally funded programs meet standards and indicators for performance.
- Participate in establishing performance goals for all programs and assure that goals are achieved.
- Comprehensive experience in a leadership, management, or supervisor position in a complex human services environment.
- Extensive management experience in multiple service programs.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees at all levels in the delivery of services that are responsive to the needs of customers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of best practices for the rehabilitation of individuals with significant disabilities.
- Knowledge of state procurement policies, rules, and regulations.
- Extensive training in vocational rehabilitation, counseling, disability services, social sciences, special education, or public administration.
- Extensive knowledge of state government operations and rehabilitation practices.
