About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer/Associate to join our Civil Engineering Practice in Natick, MA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting field inspections and subsurface explorations, performing geotechnical and civil engineering analyses, and assisting with peer review of the design and construction of geotechnical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field inspections and subsurface explorations to gather data and information
  • Perform geotechnical and civil engineering analyses to evaluate the stability and safety of geotechnical systems
  • Assist with peer review of the design and construction of geotechnical systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Prepare conceptual designs for the repair/restoration of damaged geotechnical systems
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university or M.S. in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university plus 5 years' experience
  • Degrees, experience, or related coursework in Geology/Geological Engineering, Groundwater/Surface Water Hydrology, or Structural Engineering a strong plus
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and potential to develop successful client relations
  • Attention to detail, dedication to quality and accuracy, desire to work in a fast-paced environment, and effective leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently or support multiple group projects and to interact with other engineers, administrative staff, and clients
  • Ability to gather information from a wide variety of sources (e.g., field investigations, document reviews, and interviews) and to synthesize and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and industry
  • Knowledge of geotechnical modeling software, graphing software, GIS, and imaging software a strong plus
