Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician II to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our Central Processing department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to sterilization, decontamination, and equipment preparation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform sterilization and decontamination procedures using steam, ethylene oxide, and plasma chamber methods.
  • Handle and process sterile items with precision and care.
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including ETO, STERRAD, and Steam.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operation of medical equipment and instruments.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Central Processing program or Operating Room Technician program.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience in Central Processing in an acute-care hospital environment.
  • Certification as a Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
Working Conditions

This position may involve working with hazardous materials and equipment, and may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The successful candidate will be required to undergo training and certification in the use of PPE and hazardous materials handling.
