As a Mechanical Piping Specialist, you will be integral to our fabrication team, focusing on the prefabrication of mechanical piping systems for various commercial and industrial construction endeavors. Candidates should possess experience in MIG and FLUX Core welding techniques, with TIG experience considered advantageous.
Key Responsibilities- Construct piping systems tailored for mechanical installations in commercial and industrial projects.
- Interpret blueprints and specifications to assess the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and material specifications.
- Determine the appropriate type and size of piping, along with related materials and equipment based on project specifications.
- Execute cutting, threading, bending, and assembly of pipes.
- Prepare, cut, fabricate, layout, fit, position, and assemble piping components in various orientations.
- Secure parts in place for welding through bolting, clamping, and tack-welding.
- Install hangers, supports, valves, and other components in accordance with piping system plans and specifications.
- Conduct leak tests to verify the integrity of the piping systems.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely.
- Lift loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Work from ladders and man lifts at various heights as required.
- Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
- OSHA 10 certification is preferred (the company will provide training if necessary).
- Physical ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs comfortably.
- Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check, MVR, and drug screening.
- Completion of trade school or higher education is preferred.
- Exhibit a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.
- Adhere to and promote the company's Safety Policy.
- Specific vision abilities required include clear vision at both close and far distances, depth perception, and color vision.
- Must consistently perform essential job functions in a state of alertness and safety.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts is a possibility.
- Regular and punctual attendance is expected, with the ability to work overtime when necessary.
- Starting wage: $16/hr, based on qualifications and experience.
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Flexibility to work on weekends as needed for projects.
