Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring a safe environment for patients to mitigate potential risks.
  • Identifying and addressing issues, reporting necessary information to the Nurse Manager, and documenting relevant details.
  • Assessing patient needs to provide appropriate support before, during, and after procedures while maintaining thorough endoscopy records.
  • Managing equipment and supplies, including cleaning and disinfecting endoscopy tools, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring adequate inventory of necessary supplies and medications.
  • Demonstrating flexibility and performing additional tasks as required.
  • Operating within the legal scope of technical practice.
  • Recognizing personal limitations and communicating situations that exceed capabilities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Reporting any errors of commission or omission.
  • Participating in Quality Improvement, Materials Management, Safety, and Infection Control initiatives.
  • Sharing relevant information with team members.
  • Note: This role does not involve the administration of medications, IV procedures, or other nursing-related tasks.
  • Following directions from supervisors or physicians and adhering to established protocols.
  • Completing additional assignments as directed by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of prior experience in Gastroenterology preferred.
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent medical assisting and/or technician experience.
  • A commitment to fostering strong collaborative relationships with healthcare providers and team members.
  • Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in a same-day surgery context, is preferred.
  • Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
