Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring a safe environment for patients to minimize the risk of injury.
- Identifying and addressing issues, reporting relevant information to the Nurse Manager, and documenting findings.
- Assessing patient needs to provide appropriate support before, during, and after procedures while maintaining thorough endoscopy records.
- Managing equipment and supplies, including cleaning and disinfecting endoscopy tools, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring adequate inventory of necessary supplies and medications.
- Adapting to various tasks as needed and performing additional duties as assigned.
- Operating within the legal boundaries of technical practice.
- Recognizing personal limitations and reporting any situations that exceed one's capabilities.
- Documenting any errors of commission or omission.
- Participating in Quality Improvement, Materials Management, Safety, and Infection Control initiatives.
- Effectively communicating important information to colleagues.
- Note: This position does not involve the administration of medications, IV procedures, or other nursing-related tasks.
- Following directions from supervisors or physicians and adhering to established protocols.
- Completing additional tasks as required by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in a gastroenterology setting is preferred.
- An Associate's Degree or relevant medical assisting experience.
- A strong commitment to building collaborative relationships with healthcare providers and team members.
- The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Experience in a healthcare environment, particularly in same-day surgery, is preferred.
- Required education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
