Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe environment for patients to minimize potential risks.
  • Assess and address issues as they arise, communicating relevant information to the Nurse Manager and documenting appropriately.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of patient needs to provide necessary support before, during, and after procedures, while maintaining thorough endoscopy records.
  • Manage equipment and supplies, including cleaning and disinfecting endoscopy tools, operating and troubleshooting monitoring devices, and ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and medications.
  • Exhibit flexibility and undertake additional tasks as needed.
  • Operate within the legal boundaries of technical practice.
  • Recognize personal limitations and escalate situations beyond your expertise to the appropriate personnel.
  • Report any errors of commission or omission.
  • Engage in Quality Improvement, Materials Management, Safety, and Infection Control initiatives.
  • Communicate essential information to colleagues.
  • Note: This role does not involve the administration of medications, IV procedures, or other nursing-related tasks.
  • Follow directives from supervisors or physicians and adhere to established protocols.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of prior experience in gastroenterology preferred.
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent medical assisting and/or technician experience.
  • A strong commitment to fostering positive relationships with healthcare providers and team members.
  • The ideal candidate will be motivated, energetic, and eager to learn.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in a same-day surgery context, is preferred.
  • Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
