Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe environment for patients to mitigate potential risks.
- Identify and address issues, reporting relevant information to the Nurse Manager while documenting findings.
- Assess patient needs and provide supportive care throughout the procedural process, maintaining thorough and accurate endoscopy records.
- Manage equipment and supplies, including cleaning and disinfecting endoscopy tools, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring adequate inventory of necessary supplies and medications.
- Exhibit flexibility and undertake additional responsibilities as required.
- Operate within the legal boundaries of technical practice.
- Recognize personal limitations and escalate situations beyond your expertise to the appropriate personnel.
- Document any errors of commission or omission.
- Engage in Quality Improvement, Materials Management, Safety, and Infection Control initiatives.
- Communicate essential information effectively with colleagues.
- Note: This role does not involve the administration of medications, IV procedures, or other nursing-related tasks.
- Follow directives from supervisors or physicians and adhere to established protocols.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of prior experience in a gastrointestinal setting is preferred.
- Associate's Degree or relevant medical assisting experience.
- A commitment to fostering strong professional relationships with colleagues and healthcare providers.
- The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Experience in a healthcare environment, particularly in same-day surgery, is advantageous.
- Required education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
