As a vital member of the Air Education and Training Command, the primary role of this position is to function as a training specialist. This involves:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducting educational sessions in various environments, including classrooms, laboratories, and field settings.
2. Creating and updating instructional materials to enhance learning experiences.
3. Assessing student performance and progress to ensure effective learning outcomes.
4. Providing guidance and support to students to address and resolve challenges.
5. Maintaining up-to-date professional and technical knowledge in the field.
6. Completing special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet specific experience requirements as outlined by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
Specialized Experience:
Applicants should possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level, demonstrating a solid understanding of the subject matter and effective instructional techniques. Examples of qualifying experience include:
- Teaching in adult education programs, secondary schools, colleges, military settings, or relevant industries.
- Overseeing or managing training initiatives.
- Developing or reviewing training materials and evaluating educational outcomes.
- Engaging in work that necessitates instructing others regularly.
- Possessing knowledge of aircraft maintenance and related equipment.
OR Educational Background:
Candidates may qualify with a master's degree or equivalent graduate education in education or a related field.
Combination of Experience and Education:
A blend of relevant education and experience may also meet the qualifications, provided the total is at least 100%.
Additional Information:
Applicants must submit transcripts if education is used to qualify. Volunteer work and part-time experience will also be considered in the evaluation process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Your qualifications will be assessed based on your knowledge of instructional principles, effective communication skills, familiarity with training aids, and the ability to foster productive working relationships. Expertise in instructional design and evaluation methods is essential, along with a solid understanding of aircraft maintenance practices.
