Bomber/Special Integrated Instrument and Flight Control Systems Specialist

As a Bomber/Special Integrated Instrument and Flight Control Systems Specialist in the Air Force Reserve, you will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of flight controls, ensuring that every system in the cockpit operates without any flaws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain instrument and flight control systems on various aircraft
  • Remove, install, and repair avionics systems and line replaceable units
  • Inspect and evaluate aircraft maintenance activities
  • Interpret and recommend corrective action to inspection findings
  • Establish maintenance methods and performance standards
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: High School Senior (age 17 or older), High school diploma, a GED, or 15 college semester hours
  • ASVAB Score Requirements: 70 Electronics (E)
  • Qualifications: Knowledgeable in interpreting and applying mechanical, wiring, and electronic circuit diagrams, Completion of advanced Writing Maintenance course, Experience isolating integrated avionics systems malfunctions, Normal color vision, Completion of a current National Agency Check, Local Agency Checks and Credit, Completion of weeks of Basic Military Training, Must be between the ages of 17 and 39
Training and Education:
  • BASIC MILITARY TRAINING: weeks
  • TECHNICAL TRAINING: 95 days
  • TECH SCHOOL LOCATION: Sheppard AFB TX
  • STATUS UPON COMPLETION: Enlisted Airman with credits earned towards Avionics Systems Technology
