Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Hematologic Malignancy and Cellular Therapy outpatient team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional internal medicine skills and oncology experience, with a strong ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide direct patient care services.
Key Responsibilities- Promote and maintain high standards of patient care throughout the continuum of cancer diagnosis.
- Elicit detailed and accurate patient histories and perform thorough physical examinations.
- Order appropriate diagnostic imaging and tests to determine medical and post-treatment diagnoses, patient conditions, and treatment toxicities.
- Formulate appropriate treatment plans with critical thinking skills and high-level clinical judgment, including prescribing appropriate medications.
- Chart patient progress, maintaining detailed and accurate health records.
- Participate in clinical research projects and understand the importance of documentation of toxicities and data collection.
- Communicate effectively among multi-disciplinary teams to support patient care.
- Collaborate, support, and build strong relationships with supervising, back-up supervising physicians, APP colleagues, and team members.
- Participate in the education of patients, family members, new staff, students, and other learners.
- Perform procedures, including bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, Ommaya access, and punch skin biopsies.
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current licensure in the state of North Carolina.
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- 1+ years of APP experience strongly preferred.
