Neurology Stepdown Nurse

Cleveland Clinic's Neurological Institute is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Neurology Stepdown Unit. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality patient care to diverse populations of neurological and medical-surgical patients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients with complex neurological conditions, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subdural hematomas, status epilepticus/seizures, brain tumors, and spinal injuries.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs, and educate patients and their families on their conditions and treatment plans.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- One year of current acute care RN experience, with consideration given to military RN experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
