Job Title: Neurology Stepdown RN

Cleveland Clinic's Neurological Institute is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Neurology Stepdown Unit. As a key member of our care team, you will provide top-quality patient care to diverse populations of neurological and medical-surgical patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with varying diagnoses, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subdural hematomas, status epilepticus/seizures, brain tumors, neuromuscular disorders, and spinal injuries.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs to ensure a smooth transition to home or further care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience. Military RN experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements:

This role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. You will also need to stand and walk for extended periods, have corrected vision and hearing, and work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids is possible. This role is classified as Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

You will be required to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as needed.
