Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neurology Stepdown Unit. As a key member of our care team, you will provide exceptional patient care to diverse populations of neurological and medical-surgical patients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients with varying diagnoses, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subdural hematomas, status epilepticus/seizures, brain tumors, neuromuscular disorders, and spinal injuries.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs, and educate patients and their families on post-discharge care.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- One year of current acute care RN experience, with consideration for military RN experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
This role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. It also requires standing and walking for extended periods, corrected vision and hearing, and working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Personal Protective EquipmentCaregivers in this unit follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
