Cleveland Clinic's Neurological Institute is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Neurology Stepdown Unit. As a key member of our care team, you will provide top-quality patient care to diverse populations of neurological and medical-surgical patients.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct nursing care to patients with varying diagnoses, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subdural hematomas, status epilepticus/seizures, brain tumors, neuromuscular disorders, and spinal injuries.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs, and educate patients and their families on post-discharge care.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- One year of current acute care RN experience. Military RN experience will be considered.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
This role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Standing and walking for extended periods are also required. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are necessary. Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours is also required. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids is possible.
This role is classified as Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
