Job Summary

The Quality and Safety Manager is a critical role within Walker SCM, responsible for ensuring the effective administration of Quality and Safety Management Systems. This includes managing, coordinating, monitoring, and auditing relevant ISO Quality and Safety Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather data and report to management on a weekly and monthly basis to validate service levels for customers and on-site leadership.
  • Identify problem areas and lead the changes needed to resolve them.
  • Establish, administer, facilitate, and monitor all aspects of an ISO Quality System, including creation and maintenance of training files, layered process audits, process/work instruction documentation, management reviews, and risk evaluation/mitigation.
  • Establish, administer, facilitate, and monitor Safety protocols.
  • Provide updated documents to conform to ISO standards and participate in customer third-party audit teams.
  • Lead nonconformity and customer complaint investigations within contract or Walker time guidelines.
  • Establish historical trending analysis to define corrective actions.
  • Establish and administer Safety and Layered Process Audits (LPA) to involve all site leadership team members.
  • Develop and administer validation protocols for new equipment, processes, PPAP, control plans, FMEA, etc.
  • Direct corrective actions, including planning, training, and follow-up.
  • Maintain applicable logs to document compliance and safety and quality indicators (e.g., OSHA 300 series, calibration records, etc.).
  • Establish, administer, and monitor in-process and final quality specifications and metrics.
  • Update all quality records to conform to system requirements.
  • Complete and process metrics with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Monitor, report error trends by commodity/employee for possible disciplinary action if warranted.
  • Create and review SOPs, work instructions, forms, audits, and key individuals for quality systems.
  • Manage MHE Training program with Certified Trainer(s) to ensure program meets Walker and contract guidelines.
  • Facilitate investigation of all safety incidents and serve as a primary contact for incident follow-up procedures.
  • Issue Safety Alerts, conduct Safety Audits, and administer Lock out/Tag out program, as applicable to the Site of employment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience at a similar level.
  • 3 years of auditing experience related to ISO 9001 or similar standard(s).
  • Experience working with Continual Improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Creole is a plus.
