Job Summary:

The Phlebotomy Registration Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate registration and ordering of patients presenting to the collections site. This role requires collecting and labeling specimens, processing and preparing specimens for transport, and registering patients in the appropriate systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Obtain patient information in a private and confidential manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Perform LIS orders and HQ registrations according to policy and procedure, maintaining required documentation.

Place patient orders accurately, utilizing positive patient identification.

Collect and label specimens using professional and accepted practices, ensuring timely transportation and processing.

Review computer reports, resolve any issues, and make necessary corrections.

Answer telephone calls promptly, handling inquiries with courtesy and efficiency, and providing accurate information regarding specimen collection and processing.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Basic computer skills and experience in phlebotomy and registration required.

Effective communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Detail-oriented and able to pass a typing test.
