Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Production Supervisor to join our team at our facility in New Hudson, MI. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for training, developing, and evaluating subordinate colleagues, providing leadership and direction to team members, and monitoring production operations to ensure product quality and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Train and develop subordinate colleagues to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Provide leadership and direction to team members, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities and are working towards common goals.
- Monitor production operations to ensure product quality and production efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Supervise all activities, personnel, equipment, and production, ensuring that all processes are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Prepare line set-ups for following shifts, including first-piece buyoffs, to ensure that production is running at optimal levels.
- Interface with Production Scheduling to determine schedules for shift production and ensure that schedules are met.
- Monitor plant housekeeping and maintain standards, ensuring that the facility is clean and organized.
- Enforce all company policies and procedures, ensuring that all employees are aware of and adhering to them.
- Monitor and report all production documentation, including setup documentation, to ensure that all records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Monitor production process for Continuous Improvement (CI) in both efficiency and quality, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Interface with Human Resources on all policy and discipline issues, ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and consistently.
- Address colleagues' concerns and use people skills to resolve issues, ensuring that all employees feel valued and supported.
- Communicate with all employees on priority of special assignments or any issues that need attention.
- Monitor and maintain all safety equipment, Webasto-owned equipment, and tools, ensuring that they are in good working order and that all employees are trained on their use.
- College degree in Management, Business, or Technical field preferred.
- 2-4 years previous supervisory experience in an automotive/manufacturing environment.
- Excellent people skills required.
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to work long hours as necessary.
