Job Summary

Calpine Corporation is a leading generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources, operating 77 power plants with over 27,000 megawatts of generation capacity. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing electrical equipment and instrumentation, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain plant Distributed Control System (DCS) and gas turbine, steam turbine control systems, generators, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting activities and optimize plant preventative maintenance programs to meet OEM recommendations, regulatory requirements, and corporate maintenance philosophy.
  • Provide written reports on control system conditions and maintain logs, manuals, records, blueprints, and operating procedures in a neat and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all established safety and health policies and procedures, and identify and eliminate or actively manage risks in all work activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in instrument/electrical and control system applications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with an advanced understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics.
  • Experience with DCS programming and configuration, and advanced certifications/licensures.
  • Valid state driver's license.
