Electrical Controls Specialist

Responsibilities:- Design and maintain control networks, ladder logic programming, and plant software.
- Maintain calibration of measuring instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Perform calibration and maintain electronic measuring, instrumentation recording, and indicating instruments electrical mechanical equipment.
- Maintain detailed mapping of Ethernet networks including IP addresses, wiring switches, and cable patching.
- Manage revision control PLC Logic including PLC5, SLC500, and Compact/Contrologix.
- Utilize Factory Talk View Studio, RSLogix500, Studio 500 Professional, and Panel View 32 to maintain and optimize controls systems throughout the plant.
- Ensure system integration of Information Technology (IT) systems with Operations Technology (OT) systems function on daily basis.
- Optimize plant processes by editing and/or writing ladder logic programming for a variety of systems.
- Perform standard to more complex repairs and is responsible to receive, adjust, and install new plant equipment ensuring the proper electrical performance.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and similar problems and apply appropriate corrective action.
- Read and interpret schematic drawings and diagrams required to perform maintenance on or install plant equipment.
- Perform advanced electrician duties including, but not limited to, using a voltage meter to check high and low voltage reading on equipment, checking for open circuits for line voltage, troubleshooting frequency, drives for proper operation understanding all aspects of an electrical schematic and troubleshooting/replacing I/O modules in a PLC.
- Participate in and successfully complete training directed at increasing job-related trade skills as mandated by management/supervisor.
- Perform all duties in accordance with USDA, company policy, and established procedures and maintain clean work area.
- Perform PM's inspections and verifications on all control components.
- Perform frequency drives, writes drive logic in PLC code, creates HMI applications, uploads and downloads PLC Programs and HMI applications, programs ladder logic to troubleshoot equipment, integrates new processes into equipment, sets up network communications, and sets up advanced routing of Ethernet protocols.
- Associates degree or equivalent experience and 5-7 years of related experience.
- Understanding of Ethernet networks, IP addressing, wiring, and cable patching.
- Detailed understanding of PLC's is required: PLC5, SLC500, Compact/Contrologix.
- Strong ability to utilize Factory Talk View Studio, RSLogix500, Studio 500 Professional, and Panel View 32.
- Ability to read/understand blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to comply with all general safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company, Local, State, and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Ability to obtain a valid forklift license.
- Must be able to lift ninety (90) pounds.
