Job Purpose

The Senior Facility Manager will play a critical role in creating and maintaining an exceptional work environment at the Propulsion Technical Center. This position will be responsible for providing best-in-class facilities management, including contractual management of service providers, project management for construction work, building maintenance, and managing the workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and managerial support to a diverse team of direct reports, including maintenance staff, facilities coordinators, and the shipping and receiving department.
  • Leadership and successful management of large and small-scale construction projects and other building improvements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization.
  • Development and delivery of executive-level presentations, business cases, and reports.
  • Responsible for all activities related to the efficient operation, supervision, and management of the building services, including managing facility security, janitorial, cafeteria, landscaping, and snow removal contractors.
  • Preparing capital plans and expenditures involving building, equipment, and other facility-related plans for renovation, maintenance, safety, and environmental.
  • Maintain department monthly budget and forecast, including cost savings activities and energy management to achieve superior performance.
  • Thorough knowledge of architectural and engineering methods, practices, and procedures for facilities construction and/or renovation.
  • Respond to building and equipment alarms and emergency situations, 24/7.
  • Act as a conduit of information for upper management and communicate with all employees in building-related emergency situations, power, and service disruptions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of facility management as well as technical knowledge and skills related to plumbing, electrical, systems furniture, and HVAC.
  • Manage the preventative maintenance of equipment, building systems, and life safety equipment to meet health and safety standards.
  • Develop and track facilities KPIs.
  • Inspect building structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
  • Manage documentation on building processes, drawings, and procedures in conjunction with records retention policies.
  • Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
  • Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, and recycling.
  • Lead sustainability efforts in line with BorgWarner goals.
  • Conducts space planning activities according to business unit requirements.
  • Support management systems such as ISO 14001, 45001.
  • Planning and supporting special events (annual employee car show, holiday events, building tours, customer events, etc.).
Requirements
  • Associates degree required, Bachelor's preferred; CFM or industry equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in facilities management.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with general office computer tools (word processing, spreadsheets, office communications).
  • Experience with AutoCad desired.
  • Thorough knowledge of facilities management methodologies for office, laboratory, or industrial settings.
  • Experience managing third-party contracts and accountability for quantifiable results.
  • Must have ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, 24/7/365 on call for building-related emergencies.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and be proactive.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

This position will adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices, and training as outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual. The individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses, taking every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers. He/she must report all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
