School Health Services

The School Staff Nurse provides essential health services to students in Summit and Portage County. This role involves delivering routine, special needs, and emergency first aid care. The nurse maintains accurate student health records and communicates effectively with management, parents, and school authorities. The ideal candidate will have experience in a school setting, pediatric nursing, and working within a multidisciplinary team. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and BLS certification are required.

Key Responsibilities

Provides school health services as directed by department and contracts.
Maintains appropriate student health records and documents services rendered.
Communicates effectively with management, parents/guardians, school authorities, and allied personnel.
Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with departmental/school/State and Federal, and Human Resource policies, procedures and guidelines.
Other duties as required.

Requirements

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
Certification: BLS certification is required. Registered Nurse licensure is required.
Years of relevant experience: 1 to 2 years is preferred.
Years of experience supervising: None.
