Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Specialist to join our team in Houston. As a Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for driving business growth, building and managing a pipeline of lanes of interest with BCO clients, and ensuring deadlines are met when bids are received.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, develop and maintain relationships with existing clients, and increase share of wallet.
  • Sales and Account Management: Consult with clients to understand their shipping, logistics, and supply chain needs, and provide solutions-based selling approach.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and manage a pipeline of lanes of interest with BCO clients, and ensure timely follow-up and communication.
  • Operations and Dispute Resolution: Work with the Operations and Dispute teams to resolve customer issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Prepare and submit regular reports on sales performance, customer interactions, and pipeline activity.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus 4-6 years of professional experience in sales or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM products.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of Hapag-Lloyd's shipping routes, equipment, rates, and services, as well as shipping terms, routings, schedules, and general practices of various countries, carriers, ports, and terminals.
