Electrical Engineer for Energy Transition

The energy industry is undergoing rapid changes, transitioning away from fossil fuels to newer technologies and alternative energy sources. At Burns & McDonnell, we're expanding our OnSite Energy & Power team to tackle the complexities of decarbonization and deliver a cleaner, more secure energy future.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage electrical design teams to create world-class designs for new utility installations, plant upgrades, and redevelopments.
- Apply expert knowledge of electrical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.
- Lead the execution of work, resolve issues in a team environment, and ensure quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Develop strategies to solve clients' challenging energy needs and build effective relationships with existing clients, customers, and contractors.
- Manage sales and marketing efforts, identify key pursuits, and develop cost proposals and qualification statements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program and 13 years of electrical engineering experience.
- Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures, strong knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI and IEEE Standards, and strong computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience with leading the discipline design for large projects, and ability to travel.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $220,000.00 annually, and the total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
