Position Overview:
The Beverage Artisan is responsible for crafting coffee, tea, and specialty beverages while ensuring exceptional customer service. This position participates in a tip-sharing program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests warmly and take their beverage orders. Accurately identify items and their costs, processing transactions using a cash register or other pricing tools.
- Prepare and serve beverages to customers promptly.
- Issue receipts, refunds, or change accurately to customers.
- Maintain the cash register and its contents securely.
- Complete cash drawer and sales reconciliation at the end of each shift.
- Engage with customers entering the café; respond to inquiries and provide information about company policies. Always express gratitude to customers.
- Keep the work area clean and organized; stock supplies as needed.
- Serve additional items according to unit guidelines.
- Stay vigilant about safety issues and report them to management immediately.
- Partial High School education; a High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
- Strong hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Excellent customer service skills; proactive in assisting customers and colleagues.
- Ability to identify and communicate problems to management.
- Frequent movement on foot to complete tasks, including regular transitions within the unit.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push weights up to 25 lbs regularly, 30-35 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Capability to stand for the entire duration of the workday.
- Regularly climb steps.
- Ability to endure temperature variations in different areas of the café.
- Proficient in reading and writing work-related documents in English.
- Clear verbal communication skills, including understanding and speaking clearly with customers and coworkers.
- Consistent verbal interaction with other staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical presence at the job site is essential for performing job duties.
- Coffee-making equipment such as grinders, brewers, and espresso machines.
- Touch-screen computer or register/POS system.
- Credit card processing machine.
