Job Summary

The Nurse-Resident role is designed for new graduate nurses with less than one year of experience. As a Nurse-Resident, you will have the opportunity to develop your nursing skills and knowledge in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Education Team, you will attend quality and core curriculum classes, participate in professional development workshops and peer support groups, and complete all clinical competencies and validation requirements of the Nurse Residency Program.

You will work in a team environment, managing clinical situations and providing care to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse. You will also have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment: Collect patient data and complete required forms with appropriate responses according to unit standards.
  • Planning Care: Develop a plan of care based on nursing process and incorporate the plans of other disciplines and continuing care needs.
  • Implementing/Managing Care: Provide care that conforms to accepted practice standards and make referrals to multidisciplinary support services as needed.
  • Evaluation: Record patient care delivered as planned and make observations related to impending or associated problems.
  • Leadership: Delegate nursing care to appropriate personnel and integrate cost-effective measures into nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing required.
  • Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina.
  • BLS required.

Work Environment

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
