Job Title: General Accountant

Job Summary:

The General Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of LifeMed Alaska LLC. This position will be responsible for preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and cash handling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  2. Facilitate accounts payable, including invoice processing and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  3. Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable and receivable, and other general ledger accounts.
  4. Analyze financial data and trends to identify variances, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  5. Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
  6. Support external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and assistance as needed.
  7. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency and accuracy.
  8. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulations.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA preferred.

Experience: 3 years in accounting role.

Skills and Qualifications: Microsoft 365 with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, including building formulas, workbooks, and pivot table functions. Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable duties with data input. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy and procedure manuals, and technical procedures.

Other Qualifications: Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and other employees. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Attendance: Regular attendance is required for this position.

English Language: Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per year.
