Surgical Instrumentation Specialist

At Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, we are seeking a skilled Surgical Instrumentation Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for tracking and managing surgical instrumentation and implants, ensuring that they are properly ordered, stocked, and maintained for use in surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for conducting visual inspections and inventories, maintaining adequate stock levels, and storing supplies in a safe and efficient manner.

Additionally, the Surgical Instrumentation Specialist will be responsible for maintaining repair records and training colleagues in the use of electronic instrument tracking systems. They will also be expected to stay up-to-date with OSHA standards and regulations, as well as industry best practices.

Current Certification as a Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) or CSPDT certification through internationally recognized organizations such as IAHCSMM or CBSPD is required. The ability to obtain IAHCSMM certification within eighteen months of date of hire is also a requirement.
