Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and advanced Respiratory Care procedures according to established standards.
  • Initiate, maintain, and discontinue mechanical ventilation for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
  • Perform and analyze arterial blood gas samples adhering to standards of accrediting agencies.
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team regarding all aspects of patient care.
  • Provide assistance with patient and family/caregiver education.
  • Participate in departmental quality assurance and hospital-wide organizational performance improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Licensed by West Virginia Board of Respiratory Care, or applicable state, as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist - Certified (LRTC).
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
  • Preferred qualifications include certification in Basic Life Support and Certified pulmonary function technologist (CPFT) by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
