Key Responsibilities of the Technical Applications Engineer:
- Frequent travel to install equipment and nurture strong customer relationships.
- Deliver customized consultations and expert guidance to clients, forming the foundation for enduring partnerships.
- Provide technical assistance both in-person and via phone for customers, sales teams, and during trade exhibitions for CNC machinery.
- Design and create fixtures and work-holding solutions for demonstrations, test cuts, and turnkey projects.
- Analyze and resolve intricate manufacturing and machining challenges.
- Conduct time assessments for customer components, adhering to a 10% tolerance.
- Execute time studies and machine demonstrations tailored to customer specifications.
- Engage in training sessions with senior colleagues, utilizing both internal and external resources.
- Calculate optimal speeds and feeds for part processing and generate CNC programs using industry-standard CAM systems.
- Set up CNC machines, including programming, tooling, workpieces, and fixtures, with experience in 5-axis and mill-turn setups.
- Inspect finished components for quality assurance and precision, producing engineering reports and technical documentation. Maintain regular communication with internal technical teams, external clients, and suppliers.
Qualifications for the Technical Applications Engineer:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline preferred, along with machining expertise. A minimum of 2 to 10+ years of relevant experience is required.
- Proficient in part processing, metal cutting, CNC programming, interpreting technical drawings, and machine setup, with a foundational understanding of metallurgy.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
