If you are a surveying expert looking to advance your career in Geomatics & Surveying inspections, our Geomatics Project Supervisor role will offer you a rewarding position where you will represent NV5 in the office, overseeing all survey operations related to conventional, GPS, and Laser Scanning surveys while managing project execution for all survey initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to gather necessary data for surveys.
  • Oversee various disciplines within the project team, coordinating efforts, mediating conflicts, and making decisions that reflect the best interests of both the company and its clients.
  • Establish methods and procedures for creating or re-establishing survey control and collecting survey data.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performance.
  • Coordinate findings with engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and other stakeholders involved in the project.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Engage with clients to obtain timely decisions and approvals, ensuring smooth project flow while monitoring any changes in budget or contract.
  • Guarantee the successful and precise completion of the fieldwork for projects.
  • Train and guide field crews on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Fulfill job-specific quality system tasks as outlined in the quality manual.
  • Process survey data collected by field crews.
  • Create stakeout data for construction layout.
  • Maintain project point database files.
  • Prepare foundational survey mapping.
  • Assume legal responsibility for the work performed.
  • Develop client and professional networks through associations and committees, promoting the professional standing of the firm through these connections.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Survey Group Manager.

Qualifications:

If you possess the following experience and qualifications, we would be eager to learn more about you:

  • Associate's degree in surveying technology, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in survey-related work.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management.
  • PLS license required; PLS in North Carolina preferred, or the ability to obtain it within 12 months.
  • Experience with NCDOT projects is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of COGO software.
  • Understanding of the NCDOT Plan Development Process is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ALTA surveys and ASCM Standards.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment.
