Job Summary
The Director of Budget and Award Management will oversee the financial management of grants and contracts at InsideHigherEd. This includes managing the cost component of proposal and grant application development, pre-award, post-award processes, and ongoing budget monitoring for funded awards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the cost component of proposal and grant application development, pre-award, post-award processes, and ongoing budget monitoring for funded awards.
- Document and disseminate sponsor award terms and conditions, develop cost proposal development funding resources, prepare cost proposals and grant applications, manage proposal development process including quality assurance, develop and modify budgets for continuing programs as per sponsor requirements, develop award management training materials and templates, train field program teams, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on award and budget management.
- Post-award activities include guidance and oversight on issues related to the fiscal, administrative, and regulatory management of grants, contracts, and sub-award management from award receipt through closeout.
- Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Director, and work with the Center Director, Principal Investigators, HQ and Field Program Staff, Central University Operations Team, other Georgetown University departments, and Sponsor Institutions.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Public Administration or Business Administration.
- At least 5 years of experience in costing and award management.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience managing U.S. Government Federal awards.
- Experience working with public health and research teams.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Compliance-oriented.
- Analytical skills.
- Willingness and availability to travel internationally and domestically.
