Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Communications Operator to join our team at Trinitas Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our hospital staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional communication services to patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Switchboard Operations: Operate the hospital's telecommunications switchboard system, handling incoming and outgoing calls in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Call Routing: Direct calls to the appropriate departments, clinics, or individuals, ensuring accurate and efficient call routing.
  • Information Provision: Respond to inquiries from patients, visitors, and staff, providing information about hospital services, visiting hours, and general inquiries.
  • Directory Maintenance: Maintain an up-to-date directory of hospital staff, departments, and extensions, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Emergency Response: Assist in emergency situations by promptly connecting calls to the appropriate emergency response teams.
  • Paging and Alarms: Handle internal paging requests for hospital staff, physicians, and other personnel as required, and monitor and respond to alarms and emergency codes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other hospital departments to coordinate communication during critical situations or emergencies.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient information.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, updating call logs, and generating reports as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be proficient in using hospital communication systems and software.
