Primary Care Nurse or Medical Assistant

Job Summary:
Mercy is seeking a full-time Licensed Practice Nurse or Medical Assistant to join our team in a primary care setting. As a key member of our clinical care team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for visits with providers by completing advanced standard room processes, including entering chief complaints, taking vital signs, reviewing patient history and allergies, and completing medication reconciliations.
- Assist with in-office testing, including drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKGs, walking oxygen studies, and point-of-care testing.
- Administer vaccines and other injections within the scope of practice.
- Schedule follow-up appointments as needed, per office policy.
- Collaborate with providers and clinical care teams to monitor and coordinate the delivery of care plans.
Requirements:
- Primary Care Assistant - Medical Assistant:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office. Phlebotomy and Spanish bilingual experience highly desired.
- Primary Care - Certified Medical Assistant:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
- LPN Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma in Practical Nursing.
- Licensure: Active LPN licensure.
- Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
