Your Responsibilities.

As a Pediatric Care Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the guidance of a provider or physician, which may involve casting, bracing, and administering injections
- Providing clinical triage and communication as outlined by protocols or provider instructions
- Preparing treatment areas for patient examinations, including sterilization, cleaning, and equipment checks
- Conducting basic laboratory tests on-site and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis
- Performing phlebotomy, ensuring proper collection, labeling, processing, and distribution of specimens for testing from patients of all ages
- Supporting back-office operations by managing patient flow, documentation, and customer service
- Delivering exceptional customer service and patient education based on individual assessments
- Executing tests and procedures as ordered
- Accurately documenting patient interactions and interventions
- Communicating provider instructions to patients
- Assisting with non-direct patient care tasks (such as autoclaving, stocking supplies, scanning records, and mailing)
- Identifying opportunities for enhancing patient care
- Aiding front office staff in managing patient details, scheduling, and referrals
- Assisting or leading in emergency situations
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding patient and organizational operations, adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Performing additional duties as assigned

Your Qualifications.

- Completion of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program (EMT certification and experience will be considered)
- LPNs and RNs must hold a current license from the Idaho Board of Nursing
- Proficiency in venipuncture
- Previous clinical experience is preferred
- Experience with pediatric catheters and immunizations is advantageous
- A customer service-oriented mindset
- Computer literacy and the ability to utilize relevant software for essential job functions
- Required vaccinations, including annual Influenza, Hep B, TDaP, and TB
