Senior Systems Engineer

Active TS/SCI Clearance Required

Location: Chantilly, VA

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of today and the advancement of tomorrow. Your expertise is essential in supporting our intelligence sector clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and define system architecture for both new and existing computer systems, coordinating all aspects of system development including design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing.
ROLE OVERVIEW
  • Contribute to the successful completion of specific engineering programs and projects.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Engage in comprehensive systems design, development, and integration throughout the entire systems life cycle.
  • Oversee intricate infrastructure tasks, including the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Conduct advanced systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering initiatives.
  • Stay informed about rapidly evolving technologies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior professionals.
  • Possibly serve as a team or task lead.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant systems engineering experience.
  • Possession of an active TS/SCI clearance and eligibility for CI Polygraph.
CORE SKILLS
  • Proficient in Linux system administration.
  • Experience with scripting and coding (Bash, Python, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Ansible and Helm charts.
  • Expertise in automation processes.
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Deep expertise in one of the following areas along with working knowledge of others:
  • Operational support.
  • Virtualization technologies (VMware, virtual networking, vROPS, XenServer/XCP-ng).
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux, YUM, Satellite, Capsule technologies.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Ceph storage platform.
  • GitLab.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or relevant work/military experience.
